Petron Completes Plant Upgrade

Petron completed an addition of a new 10,000 gallon mixer and three 11,000 gallon storage tanks in early October to support new business awarded to Petron in January 2013. The new equipment adds over 350,000 pounds of additional capacity to our facility.

When we were awarded the business, our customer was depleting their inventory and needed us to start production immediately. The Petron operations group worked with our customer and our Quality & Technical group to define acceptable cleaning processes and procedures, allowing us to utilize existing equipment to manufacture the new products while the new plant equipment was being designed and constructed.

A multi-functional team of Petron employees worked on designing the equipment to handle the unique characteristics of the raw materials needed to manufacture the new products. The equipment was designed to handle a broad range of products to give us flexibility in the products we manufacture in the equipment.

As part of the project, we choose to enlarge the containment area surrounding the tanks to allow us room for future installation of additional mixers and/or storage tanks.
